Staff were friendly & helpful. Pub was very clean, warm and cosy. Food was above average price but excellent quantity and quality. Service was great.
The room had been recently been refurbished. It was large, modern and tasteful with a very good shower room. The bed was comfortable and there was a flat screen TV and a fridge. The hotel staff were very helpful.
There was no parking at the hotel and the hotel reception was in the restaurant/bar area.
Friendly, helpful and polite staff, convenient location (for me) and a decent breakfast menu.
Dissappointed with my "executive" room; thought it was very bland and its appearance was not helped by the open clothes rack - very tacky. Also, no blinds on the window was a little disconcerting. Maybe I would have had a better room if I had booked direct? And the on-line price was exactly the same as our companys supposedly preferential corporate rate.
I was pleasantly surprised with The Kings Arms. The atmosphere in the bar area was very appealing and the bedroom was outstanding.
Lack of parking and the fact that the staff were not very proficient when it came to both check in and check out. However this did not take anything away from the pleasurable surroundings.
The room was really nicely decorated with a great shower and comfy bed. The hotel bar and outdoor seating area were great and the decor was very modern. Breakfast was good, however they didn't really explain what was included in the breakfast, the waitress gave us the menu for paying customers so it was slightly confusing as to what we could order, saying that I had the eggs benedict which was great, fantastic value.
Berkhamsted is a lovely area and the hotel is well located for shops, bars, restaurants and transport links.
Information said parking nearby with a daily charge - which is fine except it was roadside parking or supermarket parking when youneeded to top up the meter and keep moving - not any good when you work in the city 7am till 7pm. We had to check out early costing us £110 to find somewhere with parking. Nicely decorated room but floors on such a slope impossible to sleep. Lot of outside noise and room smelt strongly of foods being cooked in the kitchens below. Friendly staff and clean and tidy but not practical for commuting.
The staff were superb. Such to the point that they even went and got a wheat free bagel for me, so I could enjoy my full English breakfast. Our room (room 1) was just simply beautiful. Modern but kept the old inn feel to it. Very well laid out.
No car park - but not such a problem as the carpark in Tesco sufficient enough. Just had to remember to put a new ticket on it!
Clean stylish rooms and bar/restuarant. Entrance to the rooms is poor and there is no bespoke parking.
The staff were freindly and helpfull on checking, the restaurant staff were also polite and attentative. The choice and quality of the food was good and well presented.
I found my room to be clean and tidy with all the usual facilities I would expect in a Hotel of this standard . the only concern I had was that it was facing the main road and therfore was slightly noisy at times, But ultimately I enjoyed my stay. The other disadvantage was there is no immediate car parking.
Location and facilities of hotel were very good, staff were friendly and helpful, food was very good
Our room was adjacent to the patio of the pub area which did mean rather a lot of noise late into the evening
The room and bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was great. The pub had really good real ale and food. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
The restaurant area was pleasant with a good atmosphere
Lack of parking is a big issue, the noise early morning from the back yard with staff putting the trash out, lack of fruit (any) for breakfast. The rooms decor was a little lifeless and basic and was not consistent with the overall style of the hotel and pub
A nicely updated village pub with some tidily furnished and decorated rooms. Modern, functional and comfortable, the hotel was ideal for meeting family in Berkhamsted. The dining/breakfast is a modern glass room extension to the pub. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise - no buffet as the food was a la carte and freshly prepared. In all, a very pleasant stay. Would have no hesitation recommending or returning.
Excellent customer service, good size clean designer room and excellent restaurant. Ideal location for visit and convenient for all local services/ facilities.
I was in Room 4; above the fans and next to to Green Room. It was very, very noisy. The fans continued working until the food service stopped in the restaurant made the bathroom walls, door and ironing board shake. I had to put a towel under the door to stop the vibration. It was somewhat like being in a tube station. The worst noise however came from the adjoining Green Room. Loud and very intrusive music was played on Friday night until 1.00am. This was a real problem as I was getting up at 4.15am! I would still come back but to a room at the back of the hotel.
Very local to my office, which is handy. Pub & restaurant are great, rooms excellent - very well appointed especially at this price point.
